Forty-eight years ago, after completing my B.A. in Fine Art from San Francisco State University, and earning two teaching credentials, I moved to Sebastopol in Northern California to teach in the public schools (elementary, secondary, and university levels), work in the family business, and raise two children.
In my free time, I would climb into the attic and paint. Today, I have more time to travel around this beautiful corner of the world creating ‘plein air’ landscapes.
I have always enjoyed landscape painting with its fluid, intensely vivid oils. Through the years, my style has shifted and expanded. One of my greatest pleasures is in being able to be outdoors, viewing beautiful Sonoma County vistas and experiencing the light and feeling the elements while allowing the creative process to emerge. As of late, I have been experimenting with both still life, portraiture and abstracts.
